When do you start shopping for your kids clothes from the adult section?
Q. My eldest daughter is 13, almost 14 and just started 9th grade. I still shop for her from the girls section. When I saw her new friends today, they dress like 20 yr olds! Aren't 13-14yr olds still little girls? I don't want her to get influenced by them and dress like a 20yr old. What is the appropriate age for kids to start shopping from the adults section? I thought it to be around 16-17?
Asked by annie - Sat Sep 2 22:45:48 2006 - - 9 Answers - 1 Comments
A. At the age of thirteen or fourteen they shouldn't be aloud to only shop at little girls stores, as they technically aren't 'kids' anymore. No matter how much you wish or hope to believe that they are, they aren't. Reality is now a factor and most kids around that age do dress far to old for how they should be dressing. Though- that doesn't mean you should restrict your daughter from shopping at all the trendy teenage stores if that's what she prefers or if shes willing to pay with her own money. At thirteen or fourteen I wouldn't necessarily go out and take her to high fashion adult stores but you could start showing her the juniors and teenage sections by now. Keep in mind- this is my own opinion and it's truly up to you and your daughter… [cont.]

What are the basic shopping items needed for one person per week?
Q. I was wondering what the main essential shopping items are for a weeks amount of shopping. Cutting off the biscuits, chocoate, lollies, desert treats etc. Just the basic items, including tolietry and hygeine. This is for one person for one week. Thanks.
Asked by Bindi - Sun Jun 15 06:23:35 2008 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments
A. If you stick to the essentials, you can make a multiplitude of recipies and dishes. However, depending on your budget, you may not need to shop every week, just might need to stock up on a few items. An example is if you buy rice, you should buy a bigger bag which would last a bit longer. Tomatoes or other perishables will most likely be every week. My essentials are basically bread, cereal, milk, sugar, flour, onions, tomatoes(canned & fresh), rice, butter, salt, pepper, lettuce, chicken, ham, mince, some spices, toilet paper, soap, and more. It varies week to week, try out a shop or two and you will find out how much you use/need after a while. Good luck.

A. Stop buying branded goods. The supermarkets own stuff is usually just as good and they are often produced by the same people who make the branded goods.

How does this shopping cart on iTunes work?
Q. How do you set it so you can have a shopping cart on your iTunes account? I can't figure out how to do it if you could please help me that would be great.

A. It's been a long time since I set it up, but I believe as soon as you try to go to the iTunes store through iTunes or when you first try to buy something you'll basically have to set up an account (all regular questions asked) and set up some form of credit or debit card payment. After that whenever you click you want to buy certain songs or albums they'll immediately download and your card will be charged within a day or so.

When should I start shopping for my unborn baby?
Q. I'm in my first trimester with my first baby. When should I start shopping for baby stuff and how much stuff should I get? What baby items are must-haves and what items (if any) can I put off until after the baby arrives or put off completely? Also, how much newborn clothing should I have and how soon will the baby outgrow it? All advice appreciated.

A. congrats! what an exciting time! on a serious note, if your pregnancy were to have complications they'll most likely be during the first trimester. therefore, it may be a good idea to wait until the 2nd trimester to buy a bunch of baby things. if you cant wait to start shopping (i couldnt!)clothes are really tempting to buy , but i try to limit myself to only buying things that i think are super cute because i get so many outfits as gifts. if they're full term they only wear the newborn size for a month at the most, so its a good idea to start with the 0-3month size. you can always "shop" for the things you'd like to have by starting a gift registry. give other people the opportunity to help you celebrate your family's new edition!

If you're looking for some unique places, then Pike's Place has some REALLY awesome little shops and booths. Not to mention that it's a very important Seattle right of passage. I don't know of any shootings at Southcenter... that was at the Commons.

Looking for a meal planning site with customization, shopping list and diet features?
Q. I've checked out a few popular meal planning sites, but none of them are quite what I'm looking for. I'm looking for an automated meal planner (so that it populates itself based on my preferences) which allows me to swap out meals that I'm not too keen on, provides a shopping list, and considers dietary information (such as calories per day). Ideally, the shopping list would be optimized for the week (so I'm not buying groceries that are completely separate from each day's meal recommendations). I'm willing to pay for such a site.

A. I would advise toward getting a component system. This would be a dvd player and receiver as separate component devices and not an "All in One" device. If you ever plan on getting a next gen DVD player such as Blu-ray you would want to have a surround sound receiver to hook this device up to. If you buy an all in one system with a built in DVD player you will not be able to hook up your cable box to it to get HBO or Stars movies in 5.1 surround sound as most of those devices have non or limited hook-ups. I have hooked up a Sony system for a neighbor of mine that was a 5 disc DVD player & HDMI 6.1 Receiver with speakers and powered subwoofer for that price range...maybe a little more. What to look for when shopping around for home equity loans?
Q. Any advice on what to look for when shopping around for home equity loans? Are there referral commissions? I have a couple of individuals looking for a home equity loan ... I told them I'd look into it for them. I'd like to find a quality vendor, but if referrals commissions are paid out, I'd like to negotiate for that too. How do I figure out what is a "great deal"? PS. I'll happily take general replies but this would be specific to Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

A. You have to have a mortgage license to collect a commission. It is not legal to be involved without a license.
